Hi,
AHHH! Don't panic at all there many options that you may not have considered.
Lots of places now cater for wedding and civil services but maybe don't advertise it so we all think they not an option but they are!
Have you any nice grounds near you - nice parks ect - maybe you could speak to local council for list of all gardens, manor houses ect that cater for weddings and hire a marque?
How about a lovely beach or something?
You will find that perfect place soon - if you could state area where you live we may be able to help you a little bit more hun!

Check into parks, gardens, and even B&B's in your area.
To be honest, my fiance & I didn't pick what we thought would be the 'perfect' backdrop for our wedding day because we wouldn't have been able to invite all our family to attend.
We had found a mansion on the river near our home. It was GORGEOUS and had a beautiful porch with outdoor garden area. We would have had to chop our guest list at least in half in order to have the wedding there. SO we kept on looking and found a nice place that fit everyone we wanted and was still very nice. It was more important to us that our family be there than the backdrop be 'perfect'.
Sometimes compromise is necessary because you can't always get every little detail that you want.

My venue is about 35 minutes away from where I live. I live on an island - so it's a nice drive, but still.
Take a weekend away and check out the next couple of towns over.

I would suggest finding a nice gazebo or have the cerimony in a park. there's a ton of stuff you could do in an open space.. but you will end up spending a hundred or two on chairs. don't forget to get a permit if required, and have a back up indoor space in case of rain.
people don't mind traveling a little for the reception so you could hold it in a different town. don't go too far cause your guest still have to drive after. It doesn't really have to be your dream place.. as long as there's a few go photo opertunities. and keep it convienient! you don't want a ton of hassels on your day.

This is going to sound weird but I went over a map and looked for anything that might be a possibility - national trust places, watermills, gardens etc. Then I phoned them to see. You would be surprised how many people said that they don't usually do it but would consider it. Some had never been approached and thought that it might work. Phone everyone! Look for private gardens too - some people rent their gardens out for things like this. Phone phone phone anything that looks interesting. I got a great place - a private garden (HUGE with lakes) and it was the cheapest out of all of them!

There are plenty of websites if you use a search engine, I think we googled it and foind a link via our registry office. Alternatively your local registry office should have a list of places which have a licence as it will usually be a registrar who performs the service. I can think of several lovely places in the lakes area which would probably have a licence and cannot believe that some of the hotels which border Windermere or Bowness don`t have (Just thinking about the beautiful scenery) even if it is a distance from Barrow. Some national trust properties (of which there are several in you area) also have licences and I believe sizergh (?) castle has as well
A hotel will be cheaper to hire, but as far as an outdoor ceremony, I seem to remember reading that the area for the ceremony has to be fixed, which makes outdoor servies difficult. My HTB and I got around this by hiring a hotel with beautiful grounds for our civil wedding. We have the ceremony in a room which we are decorating the night before in our colours and having the photographs outside in the lovely grounds. After the service the guests will be encouraged to gather in the grounds (weather permitting) and these will be the majority of our photos.
Good luck with the venue.

What city/state do you live in?
The best thing to do is check your city and your surrounding city websites. You can probably find a nice park in your area where you can have the ceremony outdoors. Then, you could do your reception at the hotel - or you might also be able to rent a hall or another outdoor space for your reception if you'd like.
Let me know where you live - maybe I can help.
Good luck!!! ♥
Here is the website for Barrow...you can rent a park space; then just hire a minister or justice of the peace to marry you. Then you can have your reception somewhere else. This way you will get your outdoor ceremony. http://www.barrowbc.gov.uk/Default.aspx?…

Ok first-takea deep breath! Tehre is soemthign out there, its just a metter of finding it.
Try local parks. Most palces will let you marry there for free or a small permit fee. State parks, national parks, beaches, lakes, ect. Even a nice resturant or hotel with pretty grounds or a garden. Or look into house rentals. Maybe something with a pertty back yard. Then rent a tent and what not.

Is there a nice park there? or any certain place that you think is beautiful..ask the place if you can have a wedding there.. even if it means you driving around and there being a beautiful country side you'd love to have it on.
