Beginner D.j., Please Help Me With The Equipment I Need!?

Hey, I’m looking to get into the d.j.-ing service and I have no idea what kind of equipment i need. I want to dj for dances, weddings, exc. Please let me know what kind of equipment I can get and should get to start. My budget is $3000.00 or less. Thanks!

    I don’t mean to be rude or anything.. but.. How can you be a DJ and not know what equipment you need?
    I don’t even DJ and can probably tell you these items:
    turntable or cd players
    amplifiers
    speakers
    cds or records
    microphone
    lights if desired
